When talking about books in Chinese, we don’t say 一个书, we say 一本书: 本 is the measure word for books.

小红：快看，我们的新教室！
小明：哇，有好多书啊！
小红；你能看到多少本中文书？
小明：我能看到十二本中文书。
小红：有多少把椅子呢？
小明：有三十五把椅子。
小红：我的书包好沉啊！
小明：你书包里有什么？
小红：有十本故事书和十二本历史书。
小明：太沉了吧！
小红：Look! Our new classroom!
小明：There are lots of books.
小红：How many Chinese books can you see?
小明：I can see 12 Chinese books.
小红：How many chairs are there?
小明：There are 35 chairs.
小红：My school bag is so heavy!
小明：What is inside your school bag?
小红：There are 10 story books and 12 history books.
小明：Too heavy!
